At UMCSO, we recognize the importance of helping one another in our spiritual growth. In an effort to promote this growth, many members and constituents participate in groups for just this purpose. Through sharing and listening to each other, we hope to support one another in our spiritual journey. Some are new and others are part of groups that meet at individuals’ homes and have been meeting for many years. The following are some of the groups:
Men’s Group – Our group for men meets on the first & third Saturday of the month at 8:00 am to gather for fellowship and discussion. All men are welcome to join us. Contact Russ Reynolds.
Prayer Group – On Thursday mornings from 11-11:30 am, we meet in the Chapel to praise God and lift prayers for ourselves, our community and the world. You can submit a prayer request on our website or Contact us for more information.
Small Groups – We have established several small groups for the purpose of growing as a disciple of Christ. During our time together, we discuss God’s work in our lives and encourage one other in our faith journey. We also reflect upon how God is calling us to grow in spiritual maturity. All are welcome and one does not need to be a member to join a group at any time. Contact us for more information.
Crafts for a Cause – Every Friday morning from 11:00 to noon, you’ll find a group of people knitting and crocheting and having a nice visit together. We focus our conversation on where we see God working in our lives. We make many items including prayer shawls, baby blankets and hats. All of these items are donated to people in need. If you have an interest in this type of craft, please join the group any Friday morning. If you have more questions, please contact Maxine Haigh.
