Have you ever tried to pick up something without your thumb? Or tried to do something with a leg or arm in a cast? It’s not easy and certain things are just impossible to do without the various parts of the body in good working order. It is the same with the church; we are called the body of Christ. The analogy helps us to understand the importance of each person in the church; who is an important member of the body of Christ.
If you have wondered about your purpose or if you felt as if something is missing in your life, we invite you to connect with Christ. The way we see it at UMCSO, we can’t do life alone. We need help and our help is found in Christ, who is the head of our Church. Christ loved us enough to give his life as ransom for our sins and reunite us with our Creator. (For more about what we believe, please visit our What We Believe page.)
We are excited about what Christ has done for us and our purpose as a church is to share this Good News with the world. At UMCSO, we enjoy engaging in creative ministry that demonstrates Christ’s love for us. But just as the hand needs the thumb, we need each other for help and support. If you feel as if something is missing in your life and looking to find your purpose, we invite you to connect with Christ to find meaning and connect with us to transform our world!
